Competitive showcase

In each edition, the festival showcases filmmakers from different backgrounds and trajectories, bringing together stories, aesthetics and experiences that cross borders. From fiction to documentary, from animation to experimentation, each work represents a unique way of interpreting reality and imagining new worlds.

More than a competition, the showcase is a meeting place for filmmakers and public, with many different forms of expression. An invitation to discover new talents, recognize the power of audiovisual narratives and understand cinema as an art that can connect people, cultures and worlds.

In its third edition, ITAICINE reaffirms its commitment to cinematographic diversity by showcasing works that bring new ways of thinking, spark reflection and keep alive the transformative power of cinema.

Activities & Education

ITAICINE offers a wide variety of educational activities to foster learning, experimenting and exchanging experiences within the audiovisual field. The program includes lectures, workshops, masterclasses, and round-table discussions, so that the public gets to know new techniques, creative processes, and perspectives on cinema.

Led by experienced professionals, these activities cover topics such as fantastic cinema, sound design and Foley, storyboarding, dubbing, the sound industry, animation, and stop motion. The initiative aims to stimulate creativity, develop technical skills, and bring participants closer to the processes of film creation and production.

Beyond the knowledge imparting, this educational program also seeks to encourage new experiences, foster dialogue between professionals and participants, and expand opportunities for training and professional engagement within the world of cinema.

Amidst natural landscapes and traditions passed on through generations, Itaiópolis, a city located in the Northern Plateau of Santa Catarina, reveals an identity shaped by cultural diversity and the heritage of the peoples who helped build its history.
